Jackson (Davis) Gadjovich, received his Bachelor’s of Science degree from Laurentian University’s Biomedical Sciences program with a major in Biology. He continued his post-graduate education pursing a partial Master’s of Public Health with a Specialization in Northern and Indigenous Health from Lakehead University before receiving his Master’s in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto. Davis has experience in many physiotherapy settings such as sports performance, pre- and post-surgical, paediatrics, workplace injury, motor vehicle accident, and geriatrics. Davis has attained his Level 1 Orthopedic Division/Manual Therapy certification and plans to pursue subsequent levels. He completed his Medical Acupuncture certification through McMaster University and his Complete Concussion Management training course which he continues to integrate into his practice. With new research arising in the areas of sports and pediatric concussions, Davis understands that rehab can truly accelerate the recovery process once a concussion is sustained.
Davis spent most of his childhood involved in sports such as hockey, football, rugby, golf, soccer, roller hockey, lacrosse, basketball, volleyball, and baseball. As well, he continues to actively participate in rock climbing, snowboarding, spikeball, hiking, camping, biking, running, weight training, boxing, and Muay Thai. With that being said, his treatment methods incorporate techniques learned in school and rehab strategies that he has received over the years with his own sports injuries. His experience in many different sports allows for greater understanding of how an injury may occur and the physical capability required to return to sport safely.
Davis’ approach to therapy will involve a detailed initial assessment discussing the current issue and observing the physical limitations at hand. From there, a diagnosis will be made. An extensive treatment plan will be determined, to decrease pain, improve the aspects of physical function, and improve overall quality of life. Davis strongly believes in taking an active approach to therapy with progressive and functional exercise as well as several forms of manual therapy techniques. These include, but are not limited to, soft tissue release, active and passive release, and spinal/extremity joint mobilizations. With experience in many team sports, Davis believes in a collaborative effort for full recovery and will involve multiple healthcare disciplines as needed such as Chiropractors, Massage Therapists
